This really isn’t a good year for China. The astrologers know it, the Olympic organizers know it and now the good people of Anshun know it. Anshun, a smallish city in Guizhou province, was hit with flash floods and landslides last week. We visited Anshun in 2005 and Peter shot and edited the video below.
We start off in Guiyang (set to some ambient and slightly sad music by qr5) and end up in Anshun at the 2:00 minute mark. The old market there felt like it could have been exactly the same 200 years ago.
I spotted some familiar faces in that video – definitely familiar music. Nice!
